Why would anybody want to pay admission to a store?
I went once about two years ago and found the inventory was meager and
the prices were higher - actually, much higher - than those of the
regular stores. I demanded my admission money back. First they refused,
but then I started yelling and they caved.

Hmmmm. I have been to several computer shows, and stores. I have not seen
a new keyboard at a store for $6, or a new computer case for $25. As for
'meager', just how many mice or motherboards do you need to buy at one time?
Maybe you went to the wrong computer show.

The show I went to was in Overland Park (Convention Center ?) about two
years ago. It was advertised on billboards. It was as I described -
worthless.

I don't discount the possibility that there are "fairs" that are worth
going to, but I would have to hear a personal recommendation before I
went to another. And it'd have to be quite a recommendation before I'd
pay an admission charge. *Pay* to *look* at merchandise to see if you
want it? Ridiculous.

Sounds like you got hit by one of the "Super Computer Sales" put on by Blue
Star Productions. I have been to a couple and they are indeed higher than
the computer shows put on by locals. Usually the "First Sunday Computer
Show" has reasonable prices, but some times finding parts can be hit and
miss depending upon what you are looking for. If you want to check on
either show ... just check out:
